Our Environmental Goal

150 environmental projects

Beginning in 2010 École Edwards in Airdrie took on the challenge to complete 100 projects to become a GREEN School.  This year, and hopefully the school legacy in years to come, is to continue to log environmental projects big and small in our school and community.  Our goal in 2011-2012 is 150 projects and to earn JADE status in the SEEDS program.

This blog is our living archive of students making a difference and being responsible stewards of our planet.

École Edwards Elementary School Students
are 21st Century learners and leaders of environmental stewardship
as they work toward their goal of 250 environmental projects.

We began the year with 127 projects
completed last year, 123 more to go!

We are proactive as we plan our projects.
We put first things first - our environment.
We begin with the end on mind - a clean and safe school.
We synergize as we support each other's initiatives and projects.

We are:

  • critical thinkers
  • problem solvers
  • innovators
  • communicators
  • collaborators
  • globally aware
  • civically engaged
  • self-directed
  • information and media literate
  • financially and economically literate
